The idea of time management is a lie.
I’m going to tell you something that might shock you: you DO have enough time.
Before you log off, hear me out lol.
You don’t have an issue of time management, you have an issue of priority management.
We all have the same amount of time per day. So what separates productive people vs. people who aren’t productive all boils down to 1 thing.
It’s never about time, it’s about priorities.
If you think that the issue is time, then you always have a legitimate excuse to not get things done.
Yet if it’s an issue of priority, it puts the power of accountability back in your hands.
SELF-AWARENESS IS KEY
You’re lacking in priority management because you’re unaware of your priorities and how to order them in your day.
Time will be spent. 24 hours WILL go by. So it’s about how you spend it in your day.
Your time, money, and energy goes wherever your priorities are. If you’re not aware of your priorities, they can go towards the wrong priority.
This leads to burnout & overwhelm because you feel spread too thin. Yet, you don’t achieve your actual goals the way you want to.
Remember, if you’re not where you want to be, there is a way forward. Self-awareness creates change.
Once you’re aware of your priorities, you can order them in a way that suits your mental health, goals & lifestyle.
TIME FOLLOWS PRIORITIES
If you really prioritize something, there should be evidence that it’s a priority.
Think of it like a marriage. If I told my wife I loved her & she was a priority to me but I never spent any time with her, how would she feel?
Jaika would probably threaten to punch me in the face lol. In reality, she would feel hurt & upset and with good reason. Even though he said with his mouth that he cared, his actions told a different story.
Thankfully I prioritize Jaika & avoid all punches 😅😂.
The same is true with you & your priorities.
If you think something is a priority but how you spend your time indicates otherwise, you won’t make the adjustments needed to improve.
The Bible says faith without deeds is dead (James 2:26). So if you say something is a priority, make sure your schedule proves it!
