The Unseen War You Were Born to Fight & Win

My name is J.T. Singletary. I’ve battled anxiety, depression, perfectionism and the heavy chains of generational curses. 

But I’ve also walked into the light of victory, learning to fight from a place of identity and authority in Jesus.

 

The war you face is real, but it is unseen.  It comes in the form of anxious thoughts & the heavy fog of doubt.

 

Do not be deceived: this war is ancient and fierce. This war is not new. It began in Eden of old, with the serpent in the garden.

 

The dragon’s tongue may be ancient, but it is still sharp & cunning. Our fight is against the lion who is looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

 

Our enemy cannot be satisfied. Our enemy is still hungry today.

 

Many shrink away from this truth. They say it’s strange. They say it’s "too spiritual." 

But to deny the reality of this battle is to forfeit the ground God already gave you.

 

Denial forfeits your peace. Denial forfeits your purpose. Denial forfeits your joy.

 

I know how overwhelming this fight can feel. I’ve stood in the valley of the shadow of death many times, wondering if I had what it takes to stand firm. I still do sometimes.

 

But every time I:

• Choose to submit to God’s truth over believing my fears
• Stand my ground
• Resist the devil

I experience a peace that floods my soul , a peace no enemy can steal. The fear flees. The chaos dies down. The storms are dismantled.

 

This isn’t only a future promise. It can be your present reality. You don’t have to wait to die and go to heaven to get this. But you do have to fight.

Imagine having confidence rooted not in your strength, but in the King who fights for you.

 

Imagine having a pure heart that is trusts God no matter what.

 

Imagine the arrows of doubt & fear shattering against your strong shield of faith.

 

This war is as old as Eden, but older still is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. The enemy is clever, that is true. The enemy has power, this is also true.

 

But here is what is most true: his power is only borrowed, his time is short, and his fate is sealed. The God of peace will crush Satan under our feet shortly.

 

Do not be afraid. You are not fighting alone. The Lord your God is ancient and everlasting. He is your rock and fortress, your refuge in the storm.

 

He clothes you in His righteousness.

 

He crowns you with His love. 

 

He has sealed you with His Spirit.

 

You are a king. You are a priest. You are a royal heir with power over every false god, every fallen spirit, every lie that threatens to chain you.

 

Jesus is calling you to fight, but not like the world fights.

 

So fight, not in the cold stoic resolve or sheer grit that comes from the world's wisdom.

 

But fight in the warm certainty of God’s love, knowing that you are covered by Him.

David fought Goliath with nothing but a sling and unshakeable faith in Yahweh. You can stand with the same boldness because the battle belongs to the Lord.

 

So stand firm. Stand bold. Stand in worship.

 

The King who shaped the heavens and earth fights for you. In His presence, you will not just survive, you will triumph.

 

So here’s what you must do everyday:

 

1. Wake up each morning knowing you are at war. Anchor your heart in the truths of God’s promises. Begin your day in the Word before you step into the world.

2. Guard your thoughts. When the enemy whispers fear or shame, speak God’s promises out loud. Your words have power. The Word has power.

 

3. Resist with action. If bitterness comes, forgive. If anxiety comes, worship. If temptation comes, flee.

 

4. Stay close to the Shepherd. Lone sheep are easy prey. Stay in His fellowship & let Holy Spirit strengthen you.

 

Walk in these 4 steps daily. They will give you peace that surpasses understanding in a world that feels upside down.

 

Know that He holds you firm in His pierced hands. You think you have to grab Him by the hem, but He has you in His hand.

 

Knowing these truths, choose to stand & fight.

 

And when you’ve done all, keep standing. Not as one who fights for victory, but from victory, the victory Jesus already won.

 

Prepare your hearts for the coming trials. The cost is high, but our reward is eternal.

In the days ahead, let this remind you of the authority you carry.

Our authority is not a shield against hardship. Our authority is not a badge of pride.

Our authority is found in the call to live fully as sons and daughters in the midst of a broken, war-torn world.

One day soon, the war will end, and the King Himself will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

Until that day, stand in the Light. Fight with faith. And never forget: you are His, and He is yours.
